OCR: Should Pulp be banned? Page 1 of 2 Should Pulp be banned? Jude Well the obvious answer is of course they shouldn't. I'm sure most of you lot would agree that they are easily one of the finest bands about at the moment, if not the finest. They've just released a new album - 'Different Class', they've been riding high in the charts with both their last to singles: 'Common People', unjustly stopped from getting the top spot by those 2 blokes off Soldier, Soldier, and 'His-shapes', thwarted sadly by Simply Red's dire 'fair ground', There is no reason to ban them, or is there? Well according to the Daily Mirror there is. The tabloid claims that the drugs references in the packaging of 'Sorted for Es and Whizz' are a disgrace. What a load of shit. The Mirror asked readers to phone in and vote on wether Pulp's single should be taken off the shelf. Of corse thousands of old folk, hearing the Mirror's twisted version of Pulp's unique 'drug wrap' packaging, phoned in to pledge support against this 'SICK JOKE', 'Sorted for Es and Whizz' was defeated by a large(ish) majority, Haven't any of them got a sense of humour? (and you can fuck off with all that stuff about "what's funny about kids dieing from drugs?") It isn't front cover news, I just can't understand this kind of attitude, especialy from a paper that prides itself on it's left wing attitude. It wasn't as if Pulp actualy sang first last goto Music Page Page Page index
