The problem with text-based adventures was just how intelligent you could BY make the computer to commands that the player would type in. HAWK/ZIRCON On some older adventures on, say the How many of you have played Monkey (64, if you typed "Get Hat" the computer would say something like "I Island II and thought you were in the thick of the action (when it loads!) don't understand that", yet if you because of the atmosphere the typed "Take Hat" the computer would graphics and sound effects make? Only understand and would take the hat. Yet, both the commands meant the a few years ago, adventure games were not written like this. .. same thing, and half the problem of these early adventures was actually trying to find the right command to Adventure games started out as text- use!
