Psygnosis - A company profile
-----------------------------
Psygnosis is the international software
developer and publisher whose name is
synonymous with the quality 16bit games
in the Commodore Amiga and Atari ST
markets.
With titles such as Barbarian,
Obliterator and Terrorpods under it's
corporate belt, Psygnosis is recognized
as having charted new territories in
graphics, sound and game play.
Having established this profile, the
company went on to target a lower age
group with arcade action style games
under it Psyclapse label - adding a
further dimension to it's marketing
strategy but never compromising it's
high standards.
By investing many man years in the
design, storyboard, writing, music,
graphics and animation routines - then
devoting further time to preparing the
product for the market - each new title
is primed for an assault on the charts.
And there will be 15 of these launched
between now and the end of the year.
Psygnosis boasts more than 30
specialists on it's development team
made up of innovative software
engineers, graphic artists and
animators, musicians and writers.
Equipped with the best hardware and
software tools money can buy -
including the latest in 32 bit - the
company has been able to achieve an
unsurpassed level of quality control.
Now set to enter the PC and Commodore
64 entertainment arenas for the first
time, Psygnosis is poised to become the
market leader for superior games
software across all popular formats in
the 1990's.
For Psygnosis the name of the game is
always quality.
That has been raison d'etre of the
company since it was founded more than
4 years ago by joint Managing Director
Jonathan Ellis and Ian Hetherington.
Both Ellis, who came from an
engineering background to head up the
publishing operation, and Hetherington,
