  2. Aug 1 1991      TrueType¬ format notice.Notes on LORVAD¬
  3. (formerly Printers Devil) fonts:  These fonts have been converted from
  4. PostScript type1 format to TrueType¬ format. You will need the TrueType¬
  5. software inits and System 6.07 or System 7 in order to use them.
  6. OxNard is an outline shadow font with irregular sizing and erratic baselines.
  7. As a display font it works at 25 pts or larger.  Sizes above 50 pts are
  8. preferable. Caps only. Not kerned.  ShareWare $10 DownWind is a semi
  9. psychedelic calligraphic font.  Works at 20 pts or larger.  Nice for posters.
  10. Contains upper & lower case and numbers.  Not kerned.  ShareWare $10
  11. BellBottom is a display font evocative of '60's poster art.  Try it at 24
  12. points or larger.  Looks best at 40 pts or larger. Contains upper & lower
  13. case, numbers and a few special characters. Not kerned.Shareware $10.
  14. Medusa is based on the familiar Art Nouveau font Broklin. It's a display
  15. font that looks great at 12 points or larger. About 170 characters and 100
  16. kerning pairs are defined.  LoopDeLoop is a fun display font.  Its
  17. uppercase characters are based on the font Bee Line. They have a stroked
  18. effect simulating a continuous line, looped to create each character.  The
  19. lowercase characters are a solid variation on the shape of the uppercase.
  20. This set contains only about sixty characters. There is minimal kerning.
  21. Looks nice as an opening decorative capital.  Shareware $10.  Albatross
  22. is a text body font with a moderately short x-height.  The relative point
  23. size is a bit small (i.e. 14 point is closer to what most people would
  24. consider 12 point).  It contains all the regular characters and many special
  25. characters.  Shareware $10.  Judas is a display font patterned on Adobe
  26. wood type Ironwood (which is patterned on an old wood type).  It contains
  27. only caps, numbers, and a few special characters.  It seems to look best
  28. at 16 points or larger.  Very interesting negative space It is
  29. shareware-$10 (or thirty silver dollars if you want us to feel guilty).
  30. Current LORVAD fonts include: Bodidly Bold, Oswald Black, Oswald Grey,
  31. BlackForest, InkaBod, CartWright, Judas, Albatross, LoopDeLoop, Medusa,
  32. BellBottom, DownWind, and Oxnard        These fonts are NOT demos.  Unless
  33. noted they contain all the regular alphanumeric characters. Most contain
  34. an assortment of special characters.  Fonts contain ╥hinting╙; usually over
  35. one hundred kerning pairs are defined.  Bodidly Bold and Oswald Black
  36. look great in small or large sizes.     BlackForest and Inkabod are
  37. designed without any curves.  With one or two exceptions all angles are
  38. multiples of 45 degrees.  BlackForest has an old world German feel.  It
  39. seems to look best about 24 points.  InkaBod is based on the bitmapped font
  40. Nordic. On the LaserWriter it looks great at 14 points and above.  On the
  41. ImageWriter, try it at 18 points and larger.  CartWright is inspired by
  42. the Adobe wood type Ponderosa font.  It contains only the basic 90+
  43. characters.  There are one or two bitmap screenfonts imbedded in the
  44. suitcase along with the outline font. These screenfonts are just your basic
  45. Fontographer-generated characters with minimal touchup.  TrueType¬
  46. technology will generate screenfonts as you need them.  LORVAD¬ fonts
  47. are distributed in the spirit of shareware.  Try them out for a month.  If
  48. you decide to keep any of these fonts you are required to send a $10 per
  49. font registration fee to:

  52. Maryland residents should include 5% sales tax.Because of the relatively
  53. low price we ask that you send in the shareware fee even if you have
  54. registered the same typeface in type 1 format.  These products may be
  55. distributed freely as long as the following conditions are met: The files
  56. may not be modified and this notice must be included with each font or
  57. group of LORVAD¬ fonts; Fonts may be included on collections of Public
  58. Domain and Shareware disks providing that no more than $10 is charged for
  59. the disk.  Distribution by electronic BBS is allowed.  If you paid for
  60. a disk with any of these fonts you are still required to send in your
  61. registration fee if you decide to keep them.The Bottom Line:  We will
  62. continue to release laser fonts in a non-crippled format as long as there
  63. is a fair response to the registration fee.
