Either DOS or the file manager has no more unused file handles. Each DOS
application is allowed to have a maximum of twenty files open (up to the
total defined by "FILES=" in "CONFIG.SYS"). Five of these files are reserved
for console, printer, etc. which leaves only fifteen available for you.
scdinit can be used to specify the maximum number of SoftC Database
Library files which can be open simultaneously.
