The MantaDB Web Tool

Using the MantaDB Tools

The Tools tab of the configuration dialog box displays a number of buttons that start various useful utilities and tools. The configuration dialog box is started by pressing the configuration button on the MantaDB toolbar displayed within Internet Explorer.

Debug Window

The Debug Window button will enable the Debug dialog box. The Debug Dialog box scrolls diagnostic information about MantaDB's internal workings and was implemented to enable better technical support. For example, if you are having problems you might be asked to enable this window, perform some actions, and cut and paste the output into an E-Mail to MantaDB@MantaDB.com. Feel free to have a look at this if you are technically minded. Normally this dialog box should not be started as it slows down the searching and indexing processes considerably.
Search Database
The Search Database button starts the Search Database dialog box. This dialog box allows you to perform keyword searches of previously indexed pages. Detailed information on this feature can be found on the Search Database help page. The Search Database dialog box can also be started using the Search Database button from the MantaDB toolbar from within Internet Explorer.
Index Explorer Cache
MantaDB can only search for words on pages that have been indexed in its database. Typically, (if you have autoindexing enabled) new pages are scanned as you see them and are automatically indexed as you work. If you wish, you can add the existing Web pages in your Internet Explorer Cache to the database.

The Index Explorer Cache button starts the Index Cache dialog box. Once indexed you will be able to perform keyword searches over the contents of the pages in your cache. Detailed information on this feature can be found on the Index Explorer Cache help page.

Upgrade Information
Want to find out if there is a new version of MantaDB available? Rather subscribing to yet another annoying product announcement mailing list just hit the Upgrade Information button when the mood takes you. You will find it produces a web page display showing a summary of the major features that have been added to versions of MantaDB later than the one you are currently using. It's simple and easy to use - just press the button.
