1996 This is one of the most fluently written guides to the Internet you'll find online. Presented in the form of 27 separate classes or 'maps', author Patrick Crispen covers all the major components of the Internet, not just the World Wide Web. In a relaxed chatty style, Crispen guides you around listservs, e-mail, Usenet, Telnet, FTPing, muds, MOOs, IRC and much, much more. On the way, he takes a few side roads, taking in Netiquette, neat Internet features to check out and flame wars. You can take the trip in small chunks or read till your eyes bug out. Whichever way, you'll find it worthwhile. |
