      Importing Web Pages
        (only available in SurfSaver Pro)
    The SurfSaver Import Utility lets you import HTML or text files into your SurfSaver folders. This is useful if you have a large group of files and want to import and search these in SurfSaver. The SurfSaver Import Utility is only available in SurfSaver Pro. 

     

    To Start the SurfSaver Import Utility

    1. Start the Import Utility from the Windows START menu.
    2. Choose START - SurfSaver - Import Utility

     


    To Import Files

    1. Choose the SELECT FILES button and select the HTML or TEXT files you want to import.
    2. Select the folder you want these files saved in.
    3. You can add KEYWORDS or NOTES in the appropriate fields if you wish this information to be saved with all the imported files.
    4. Choose the IMPORT button to start the import.
    5. When the files are imported, a message box will appear.


    The Import Dialog

     
    The Import dialog consists of the following components:
      selects the files you wish to import.

      removes a file from the list of files to import.

      removes all files from the list of files to import.

      SAVE FILE LIST CHECKBOX
      When checked, the list of imported files is stored. The next time the Import Utility is started, the list is displayed. This is useful if you repeatedly import the same set of files.

      FILING CABINETS AND FOLDERS
      You can organize your Web pages in filing cabinets and folders. The right part of the Import dialog displays a list of the current folders. A Web page is imported in the selected folder. The buttons above the folders let you create a new filing cabinet or folder or delete existing ones.

      BROWSE BUTTON
      This button lets you select the drive and directory where you wish to import a Web page.

      KEYWORDS
      This field lets you enter keywords for the imported pages. Keywords are useful to help categorize and classify your information. You can search for any of the words you enter in this field.

      NOTES
      This field lets you enter notes for the imported pages. You can search for the information you enter in the notes field. The notes field can contain up to 10K of text.

      USER
      Records the computer name and the user who imported the page.

      DATE and TIME
      Records the date and time that you imported the page.
