Wowed by your site. I shall link to it out of my WOW Awards page.
I saw more than 100 pilot whales beached on a Northland shore recently and took photos as hundreds of people struggled day and night to save them. 60 were lost as they kept re-stranding. One theory was that Orca had chased them. Comment???

I really like whales a lot & when I grow up I want there to be whales. I think that having innocent whales dying is just like having people dying. If we have a right to live on this planet, the whales have a right. The whales should be able to live a happy life.

I am a zoology student. I was really facinated by the way these creatures (mammals) have adapted themselves to the aquatic life. I still don't understand why people are so stone hearted to slaughter whales for money. They are also the children of God like Man. Why don't these people understand that even whales have a heart and also feelings like us. Please try to save these wonderful creatures which should not become an antique for our future generations to see and learn more about whales.

Can anyone tell me if you could view Sperm whales off the coast of Dominica in late March? Are there any strong possibilities for whale or dolphin sightinings anywhere in the Southern Caribbean in late March? Any information will be helpful. Thank you

I think whales are the most amazing and well-adapted creatures. I believe they are much smarter than humans, and when they see us, I bet their thinking, "Why are these things still on land?"

I dont know if you believe in Greenpeace? But what about the enviromental disaster they created in Greenland some years ago? They succeeded in stopping the people of Greenland hunting "babyseals" The only effect of this was that several years later, there were too many seals in the ocean and they ate all the fish. What is the point of that? What good did it do??
YOU CAN┤T MESS WITH NATURE. Why do you people not see that? The nature has to go it┤s way. Somebody eats somebody which has eaten somebody....Why can┤t you see that If you didn┤t put so much POISON into the sea, and we didn┤t kill some whales. What do you think would happen then? Whom would it strike? What kind of race would be eaten up by the whales? How could the people, that live of the fish which the way too big whale population would eat, then survive?
STOP MESSING WITH NATURE---THAT IS NOT YOUR ASSIGNMENT IN LIFE---STOP POLLUTING OUR OCEAN
I think that you are all crazy fanatic┤s. The page sucks and there is no truth in the informations on the link to the place about the faroese pilot whale killings. What right do you have to write such information that is not true? How do you survive? What do you eat? Do you ever kill flys?
Do you ever eat something that was once alive?
The pilot whale is NOT a race in danger. The pollution of the seas, which your country is a part of, kill more whales than we do in 7 years. Pigs and cow┤s are held in captivety all their lives and then killed so people can eat them?????? Why the don┤t you go after them instead???? Are pigs and cow┤s not as beautiful as whales???? Is there not enough money in such activity???
CLEAN YOUR OWN MESS BEFORE YOU START TO POINT YOUR FINGER AT SOMEBODY ELSE.

I really like whales and dolphins and I think that it is a shame that so
many whales get hunted down each year. This is a great site with some
great pictures. Some of these I can use to make great destop wallpaper for

Hi Guys!
Y'all aren't gonna believe this. Instead of holding up the laws of
the U.S.A. President Clinton is on the verge of allowing whaling to
resume n U.S. waters after beng under pressure from this tribe in
Washington State! My girlfriends and I have been busy makin' petitions
to stop him from startin'. He's bound to listen to young children
and teens when he realizes that he'll be hurting the young American
people. It's gonna take more than the children of this country to
change his mind. So we're gonna need all the help we can get from
people in Mexico, Canada, Australia, etc., etc., etc.. G.Clark I think
your help will be needed as well. The President's email is
president@whitehouse.com. Start buggin' him now ASAP!!!! Thank you
all!!!

If you have received any coorespondence from the Atlanta,Georgia or Chattanooga, Tennesee (or anyone in Georgia) from the US. I would be interested in contacting these teachers to offer my services.

I think that the government should do more to protect the whales. The U.S.A makes a lot of money in tourism from people who come to see the whales or to places like Sea World where they have whales. Can remember when I was a kid and going to Sea World for the first time and how neat it was. It would be neat if whales would comeback because if future generations of kids can't see whales because some idoit was to kill them all it would be a shame.
Keep up the good work!!!!

Hi,
I am a high school student and I am currently in a Marine Biology class. We were assigned a project and part of it was to contact an aquarium for some of our information. I was hoping maybe u could help answer some of my questions.
First off, I know that u could not keep a "Right Whale" in an aquarium and if u could i'd imagine that it would be a very large tank.... but just for my project purposes I would need to know this information. Ok here are some questions..
1. What size and depth tank would be needed for a Right Whale?
2. How many Right Whales could be kept in the tank at one time?
3. What materials should the tank be made of?
4. What other types of organisms can be or should be included in or around the tank?
5. What should you feed Right Whales and how often?
6. Can they be bred in captivity? If not, what are the problems? If so, are there any special conditions necessary?
7. What range of salinity is good?
8. What range of temperature is good?
9. What range of dissloved oxygen is good?
10.How are the waste products removed? Is nitrogen controlled?
If you could as much as you can for me that would be great. I thank you for your time and effort.
thanks, Adam Scoot345@aol.com

According to your information, the orca is both a Blackfish (smaller toothed whale) and a member of the Delphinidae family, and also the largest member of the Dolphin family, Delphinoidea. What is correct?

I am new on the WWW and I also was in the ocean on Boxing Day, 1997 at a place called Happy Valley where a pod of approx. 78 Minke Whales where chased into shore by two 16' Hammerhead Sharks. The experience that I had is unable to be described because it has revolutionised my thinking about the way for the survival of this planet.
