Q: I am a class XII student and doing a project in Turbo C++. I need to display a couple of Bitmap / Jpeg Images. How do I do that ?
A: C and C++ do not support JPEG files, but they support BMP files. If you are using Turbo C++ include bgi.lib path in your compiling process. You will have to use the function supported by it and have to parse the header file to know the type of BMP files and then you plot the file pixel by pixel. It is better if the BMP file resolution is 256 colors.

Q: During booting,my system displays a message box saying "Unable to load dynamic link library msnp32.dll". Once I click on "OK" the system works alright. I am using Windows 98. A: If you are not on a network, remove all network components from Control Panel > Network and install only the components that you require. Also, change the Primary Logon to Windows logon. If you are on a network ,please reinstall or upgrade your network drivers.

Q: I use a Trindent 9750 3D image AGP card and when I measured the FPS using giess plugin of Winamp it showed a rate of 24.4 fps. But on running Linux I get only a rate fps of 13.1 Could you explain this discrepancy?
A: It's got nothing to do with Linux. The plug-in you use isn't very resource intensive and therefore runs faster than whatever you used to get an fps rate under Linux.

Q: I have an internet connection in my office about eight kilometers away from my home. I wish to use the same internet account from my home for net surfing, sending and recieving e-mails by just connecting my home computer to the telephone via a modem. Is it possible? If it is could you please guide me? I have Windows 95 in my office and Windows 98 at home. Also, I wish to be able to access my files and programs loaded in my office computer from my home.
A: Yes, it is possible. You will have to connect two modems on two telephone lines to the machine connected to the ISP. You will also require a remote administration software on the machine. Once you have this, you can dial in from the other machine to one line. The other line will be used to connect to the ISP. You can then use any proxy server software to share the connection.
