Installing Metabase Editor

To install Metabase Editor

1. Start Windows 2000. Note that you must log on as a member of the Administrator group to install Metabase Editor.
2. Insert the Windows 2000 Resource Kit CD into your CD-ROM drive.
3. When the Autorun screen appears, click Explore the CD.
4. Browse to <cdroot>\apps\metadit.
5. Click setup.exe to initiate the Metabase Editor setup.
6. Follow the instructions that appear on your screen.

Starting the tool

Once the tool is installed, click Start, point to Programs, and then click MetaEdit 2.0 to run the tool.

The MetaEdit files are installed to a user-defined installation directory during setup. If no directory is defined, the files are installed in the following directory:

Program Files\MetEdit
