Upgrading Member Servers

There is one, primarily automated procedure for upgrading a member server. During the upgrade, Windows 2000 Server migrates the current settings of the operating system, and little administrator input is required.

To upgrade a computer, load the Windows 2000 Server operating system CD, and then the Setup wizard guides you through the steps. When prompted, click Upgrade to Windows 2000. In the final step, Windows 2000 Server Setup will restart, gathering information and using preexisting settings from the previous operating system.
