F-Prot's ScanWizard offers the step-by-step method of scanning your system. It asks a few questions to gather the necessary information on what to scan, how to do it and what to do if a virus is found. ScanWizard makes sure you do not forget anything while configuring the OnDemand Scanner.

ScanWizard in Normal mode offers the following steps:
1. Start dialog | Starts by asking you which drives, folders or files the OnDemand Scanner should scan. |
- Individual drives | If you choose to scan a drive or drives completely this window appears. |
- Folder | If you want to scan the contents of a single folder you can select it here. |
- File(s) | If you would like to scan one or more files you scan specify them here. |
- Customized | Here you can create multiple tasks and organize your search more effectively. |
2. How to scan | Here you decide what type of files you want to scan, such as Word documents, ZIP archives etc. |
3. Heuristics | the OnDemand Scanner is able to detect possible viruses by using heuristic scanning. |
4. Action to take | If a virus is found, the OnDemand Scanner will deal with it according to your configuration here. |
5. Messages | the OnDemand Scanner can display a customized message and/or send an e-mail notification if a virus is found. |
- Apply to all tasks? | This custom dialog asks you whether the scanning options should be applied to all of your tasks. |
6. End dialog | Here you can select whether the OnDemand Scanner should start scanning or save the configuration so it will be available after you exit ScanWizard. |
