ScanWizard - How to scan

Select in what way you want the OnDemand Scanner to scan.

Scanning depends on the files extensions selected (. exe, .doc etc.). Extensions can be defined by clicking the Extensions button. File scanning is based on extensions and content. All files are opened and checked for macros. If they do contain macros these are scanned. The files with specified extensions are also scanned as above. All files are searched, regardless of extensions and content. Even files that can not possibly contain viruses are searched. This method of scanning is extremely time consuming and in no sense more secure or 'safer' than a normal scan, hence the name. Boot sectors on relevant drives are scanned. F-Prot only scans boot sectors on local drives, i.e. hard disks and floppy drives on your computer. All subfolders in the selected location are searched. Closes the ScanWizard without saving any changes. F-Prot Antivirus will scan inside compressed archives, e.g. everything inside a ZIP file. Displays a window for selecting extensions to search. Click here to take one step back in ScanWizard. Clicking here takes you to the next dialog. Displays a window for selecting extensions to search.

You can move the mouse cursor over every area of the above picture to get an explanation of its functions.
Most buttons can be explored further by clicking on them.
