Normal mode scanning provides the easy way of scanning your system and handling any known virus that may be found. This mode should be sufficient for most users and able to handle the most common scanning tasks.
If you want the OnDemand Scanner to scan for viruses you must direct the software where to look. You define this by entering the path into the edit box. You can also click the Browse... button and select the precise destination from a window that displays available options.
You can click the Options... button if you want to select where to scan and what action to take if viruses are found. If you do not select it, the OnDemand Scanner will use default values.
After entering this information you can click Scan now to start the scan.
It is possible to configure the OnDemand Scanner's scan settings step by step. This is done by clicking Scan Wizard.
the OnDemand Scanner offers an Advanced mode for scan options setup. This is particularly useful for systems administrators and the more experienced user, as the OnDemand Scanner offers a wider range of scan and reporting customisation options. To switch from normal scan to advanced scan simply click the Advanced button.
It must be stressed that the quality of the actual scan is exactly the same in Normal mode and Advanced mode, the difference being in the setup customisation options.
