Geek Gadgets(TM) is a project organized by Cronus to produce and support ports of dozens of the most popular development tools and utilities from the Free Software Foundation, BSD, and other sources.

This CD contains virtually all the tools you need to get started programming on the Amiga, including advanced C, C++, Fortran, and ADA compilers, assembler, linker, EMACS editor, "make", source code control systems (rcs & cvs), text and file utilities, GNU debugger, text formatters (groff & TeX), and more. Also included are beta test versions of ports in progress, like a port of the X Window System (X11R6.1).

Everything comes with complete source code and all binaries have been compiled from the supplied sources. Most tools on the Geek Gadgets CD can be run directly from the CD-ROM, without the need to install any files on your hard drive.

Geek Gadgets Version 2 also comes with a developers version of the new p.OS operating system from proDAD. This allows developers to get started porting their applications to p.OS prior to the first general release of p.OS.

NOTE: The version of p.OS on this CD is a time limited demo which just recently expired. We are working on a solution to this problem, which may include making an update of the p.OS kernel available electronically. In the meantime, you should consider purchasing the full p.OS prerelease to use for p.OS development.

Using the tools on this CD, it is possible to produce executables that run on both p.OS and AmigaOS (one executable runs on both). Most of the tools on this CD run on both p.OS and AmigaOS.
