Gateway designed the Destination Digital Media Computer (DMC) to integrate five digital platforms: Digital TV, Digital Versatile Disks (DVD), the Internet, Digital Interactive Entertainment and Home Automation. Those five digital platforms converge into one system thanks to the Destination DMC�s huge 35.5-inch viewable 800 x 600 SVGA monitor, Pentium II processors, DVD-ROM drive, 3-D graphics accelerator, cordless keyboard and Field MouseÒ remote and more.

 

Digital TV

The prairie-sized 36-inch monitor (35.5-inch viewable) displays Digital TV and Digital Satellite Broadcasts in stunning resolution. Digital pictures stay digital ¾ not converted to analog as in traditional television sets ¾ with no loss or compression of signal. The Destination DMC also improves picture quality from devices traditionally connected to television sets like cable TV, VCR, satellite signals and laser discs.

 

DVD (Digital Versatile Disk)

 

The heir apparent to the VCR and the future of recorded media, DVD can display video at 720 x 480 lines of resolution. The Destination Digital Media Computer displays DVD without converting its digital signal to analog and without loss or compression of the digital signal. Destination DMC unlocks DVD�s maximum resolution, incredible picture clarity and color saturation.

 

Internet (Digital Communications)
