Hodgkin-Huxley-A (HHA) Model

To implement information maximization learning rules in spiking neurons, a simplified model of a neuron consisting of two electrotonic compartments was constructed. The soma (or cell body),  illustrated in Fig. 1,contains the classic Hodgkin-Huxley sodium and delayed rectifier conductances with the addition of a transient potassium ``A"-current and an adaptation current.

To make the model scale invariant, we normalize all model conductances and capacitances by the membrane area for both the somatic and the dendritic compartment. When an arbitrary scale is assigned in figures, it is $10 \; {\mu\text{m}}^2$.
