SystemMigration is a complex process. However, with adequate planning and preparation, it becomes a process of simply executing the plan.
Migration can take many forms. Migration to new hardware provides advantages for system availability that should not be discounted even if a migration over an original system was first planned.
With automated installation techniques, such as CID, and armed with appropriate utilities to extract key configuration information from the server, migrating to new system hardware becomes a reasonably straightforward matter.
