ASA Hall Meeting
|

The big ASA main event is taking place on 18th March 2001!
After the Feb meeting was canceled, due to the hall roof collapsing (!), we
rescheduled the hall meeting for March. The venue has (obviously) been chanced,
see below for directions!
Hope to see everyone there, keep an eye here and on the mailing list for details of
events at the hall meetings. Confirmed so far are some games for people to play
(including networked Super Skidmarks on two monitors at once),
and Opus Workshop and a demo of OS3.9!

Events
|
|
ASA organises many events for it's users. There are regular pub meetings, as well
as occasional house meetings and informat get togethers. We are also looking at
organising some bigger events too, keep an eye here and on the mailing list for
details.

Hall Meeting
|
|
For our next hall meeting we are using a hall in Southampton. This isn't
a perminant move, just until we can sort out a good location to stick
with. Directions:
Come off the M27 at junction 3, Southampton East, Come down the M271 and
take the first exit and turn left down Brownhill way, there is a B&Q on the
right at the junction and a new hotel on the left.
Go to the new roundabout and go straight over, onto the big roundabout and
go straight over this one as well up to the next one where you will see a
Sainsbury's store. take the second exit to another roundabout at the side
of the store. Take the second exit on this one down Lordshill Way, this is
a long road that goes down and then up to a set of traffic lights, you need
to be in the right hand lane here. There is the Woodman pub on your left,
but dont go in yet as your almost there :)) Turn right at the lights and
the hall is directly on your right, in the corner. It's the Aldermoor Scout
hut, top of Aldermoor Road, It has a distinctive pointed roof.

Pub Meetings
|
Pub meetings are held on the first Saturday of each month at the Heathfield Arms,
Blackbrook Road, Fareham. Everyone is welcome, just come down at around 8pm and
we will see you there. We are normally in the 'back' part of the pub, not the main
part with the stage, pool tables etc. Check out our
Round Table and User Gallery pages for some familiar faces.
There is always at least one Round Table person there, usually all of them. We have
a few pictures of recent pub meetings, for some reason Mike O'Hara seems to be in most
of them! You can see them here.

Click on the map for a larger version. To get to the pub from the M27,
get off at Junction 11 and head towards Fareham. Go over the roundabout
and move into the the far left lane so you can drive over the 2nd
roundabout - its obvious when you see it. Take the first left at the
next roundabout - going under the railway lines, and make your way to
the right hand lane ASAP. Turn right at the traffic lights, and look
out for "Blackbrook Road" on your left, it's the second exit.
Follow Blackbrook Road until you get to the Heathfield Arms pub. - Mike
