Components (i.e., reusable assets) should be generic in design and should have a representation of what is changeable in the asset so it may instantiated to the immediate need i.e., where the asset is being reused. Many commercial components come with their own tools which usually have a different process. Unfortunately tools like libraries usually do not fit well with the software engineering environment. For example libraries often do not have the same platform as the SEE and like other current tools are difficult to adapt.
