The Method

We used the method in Craig Hollenbach's thesis [1,2] as a starting point. This method is currently in use at PRC Inc. and has resulted in a library of 120 reusable processes. Our claim is that although such processes took 800-1000 hours to develop, they took only 10-20 hours to adapt. The method includes:

Voytek Kozaczynski of Andersen Consulting has specific needs for process reuse in his company and provided many questions regarding the method.

Applied systematic domain analysis to processes in a company, Claims to show a major productivity improvement based on a library of 120 reusable process elements.

In discussion, we examined the method in light of the 3Cs model of reuse design [3] and found that our method did not adequately deal with context. We added a template for context to the method, and devised process descriptions based on the 3C model, with explicit inclusion of variability and context as well as content and concept. We created an example process specification for software testing as a small test of the method.
