Native Rites performance Rider/Stage Layout (3-5 performers*) THIS IS ALSO THE LAYOUT FOR SCHOOL PERFORMANCES
Center Artist, Douglas Spotted Eagle travels with UHF in-ear monitor system. No foldback speaker is required for center stage, although an XLR or TRS feed must come from monitor console to input of Garwood transmitter.
The scrim should be hanged at least 30 feet upstage to leave room for dancers. 4 direct boxes are needed at either stage right or stage left. 2 DI’s are fed with flute signal in stereo, and the remaining 2 DI’s will be fed with CD audio to be operated from the stage. House sound system shall consist of not less than 7 channels of input, with a minimum of 1 monitor (2 preferred) send to stage foldback system. CD audio must also be heard in the monitor system. System shall provide clean, hum free sound to all points of the venue. AC power shall need to be located not less than 20 feet from center stage. A fog machine or mister is required. (NOT required for school only performances, but we prefer to have one in order to present performance at it's best) Video must be operated from a point where operator can cover the projector lens when video is not running, so that no blue screen or static screen is projected during program, or in the alternative, a switching system accomplishing the same task shall be incorporated. Video may be flown from batten in event of a switching system being used. As an alternative, video may be operated from stage apron. No audio feed is required from video player. Artist will provide technical director with blocking script in order to assure that video operator is aware of when video is to be used. Lighting is required at each of the microphone areas, preferably with 2 specials of differing color. Upstage area to be washed with amber, light reds, and blues to completely light dancer’s area. A minimum of 1 spot operator, 1 mister/fogger operator is required. (mister/fog operator may be script reader or Technical Director) For non-school performances, 2 spot operators, and 2 backstage operators/assistants are required. Please have bottled water behind the stage for artists use. Our load in/sound check time for this performance is approximately one hour This performance does not travel with a Technical Director, therefore a script reader/director is required with a clearcom connected to all technical personnel. (Spot ops, video op, lighting ops, sound engineer. Technical checklist:
- 1-video projector w/VHS tape machine (Eiki 350 projector or similar)
- 4-direct boxes (pref w/ground lifts)
- 1-mixing console w/7 channel minimum inputs
- 2-monitors
- Sound system capable of providing clean, hum free sound at all seating areas in the venue. No 70 volt distribution systems will be accepted under any circumstances.
- Dead hang bar batten for scrim (30'w X 24'h) May be wider if notified in advance (60'w X 24'h)
