Bj÷rk on Tibetan Freedom Concert CD Source: Addicted to Noise Online Date of issue: 29-06-97

A three-CD set drawn primarily from this year's two-day Tibetan Freedom Concert will be released this fall. The album, put together by concert organizers, the Milarepa Fund, will be released on the Beastie Boy's Grand Royal label (through Capitol Records).

In addition to tracks from this year's consciousness-raising event, a few tracks chronicling last year's inaugural Tibetan Freedom show in San Francisco will also be included. This year's concert took place on Randall's Island in New York on June 7th and 8th.

Artists that played the concert and who may be featured on the album include Sonic Youth, Bj÷rk, Blur, Noel Gallagher, Foo Fighters, Eddie Vedder and Mike McCready, and the Beastie Boys. The tracks will be interspersed with soundbytes, speeches and snippets of interviews with the bands. All proceeds will go to the Milarepa Fund.
