What is Authorin

Authorin is an interactive program based on screen forms and controlled vocabularies that guides you through the process of entering your sequence and providing biological and bibliographic annotation. Authorin output files may be submitted electronically via e-mail or by mailing a diskette with the output file to NCBI.

How to Get Authorin

• Postal Mail

  This software package is available for IBM (version 1.2) or Macintosh (version 3.0) computers. When requesting, provide the type of computer (PC or MAC) and, for PC, the size of diskettes needed (3 1/2" or 5 1/4"). Authorin is provided free of charge from:

  You can also obtain Authorin from the NCBI anonymous ftp server (ncbi.nlm.nih.gov). The Macintosh version (3.0)is in the directory /pub/authorin/mac; it is compatible with Macintosh System 7 operating system. The DOS version (1.2) is in the directory /pub/authorin/dos.
