When Songtsan Gampoí»s concubine Nepalese Princess Kyridzun first came here, She even failed to find a place to build a temple to house the original statue of Sakyamuni. One day, Songtsan Gambo and Princess Kyridzun walked along the beach of the lake. There, Songtsan Gampo made his idea that he would throw his ring away, and the place the ring fell down would be the place to build the temple. Unexpectedly the ring fell into the lake, soon a light net covered the lake and a stupa appeared in the net. The construction of the temple was started and thousands of goats carried earth to fill up the lake. According to the pronunciation of í░goatí▒ in Tibetan and to memorilize the goats, Lhasa was named í░Rasaí▒. This was the original name of Lhasa.íííí
