La espalda verde, las partes ventrales amarillas y las barras blancas en las alas ayudan a identificar esta especie, aunque puede ser fßcilmente confundida con otras reinitas (vea la obra de Dunn et al.). La hembra tiene la espalda gris o parda, con el amarillo ventral mßs apagado. Tama±o: 13-14 cm.; peso: 9-15 g. Audio (M. Oberle). Anida en los bosques de pino del sureste de Canadß, el este de Estados Unidos, las Bahamas y La Espa±ola. Las aves que anidan en AmΘrica del Norte invernan en el sureste de Estados Unidos. Accidental en la isla de Mona (29 de septiembre de 1987).
