Northern Fulmar

Fulmarus glacialis

Ave parecida a las gaviotas, de cuello grueso y pico relativamente corto. Existen dos versiones del plumaje: una totalmente marr≤n oscuro y la otra gris pßlido con la cabeza, el cuello y las partes ventrales blancas. Tama±o: 45-50 cm.; peso: 450-1,000 g. Anida en grandes colonias en las costas del norte de Eurasia y AmΘrica del Norte. Accidental en los mares pr≤ximos a las islas caribe±as, pero a·n no se ha documentado en Puerto Rico. Las colonias de crφa mßs cercanas se encuentran en la costa de Terranova, Canadß.
