Blackburnian Warbler

El macho tiene la cabeza naranja brillante con una mancha negra en la cara. Las hembras son de plumaje mßs apagado, aunque conservan un distintivo patr≤n en la cara. Tama±o: 12 cm.; peso: 10 g. Audio 2 (M. Oberle). Anida en el nordeste de Estados Unidos, el sur de Canadß, y en las monta±as Apalaches, llegando por el sur hasta el norte de Georgia. Inverna en los Andes. Las poblaciones locales aumentan despuΘs que se dan brotes de la oruga de la picea en las ßreas de reproducci≤n. En Puerto Rico, especie rara durante el invierno en los bosques costeros y h·medos (avistamiento en el Barrio Papayo, Lajas, el 12 de mayo de 1998).
