Ave acuática de gran talla, con el cuello largo y el plumaje blanco. Tamaño: 120-150 cm.; peso: 4,300- 9,600 g. Audio 2 (M. Oberle). Anida en la tundra de Alaska, Canadá y Eurasia. Accidental en los humedales de Puerto Rico. El Cisne Negro, Cygnus atratus, especie australiana, a veces es exhibido en los lagos de los hoteles o los campos de golf pero no anida en estado silvestre en Puerto Rico. Es de plumaje negro con el pico rojo. TAXONOMÍA: ANSERIFORMES; ANATIDAE; Anserinae. Antiguamente llamado "Whistling Swan" en inglés. |
