This active, green and yellow warbler has a black cap in the male, while the female has a dark green cap. Length: 12 cm.; weight: 7-8 g. Audio 2 (M. Oberle). It is a small warbler, with a smaller bill than the Hooded Warbler and no white in the tail. Breeds over most of Alaska and Canada, south through the western mountains of the USA. Winters primarily from northern Mexico south to Panamá. Accidental on Mona Island (6 January 1978).
