Olive green above and bright yellow below, this warbler has distinctive yellow and black facial markings. Length: 13 cm.; weight: 13-14 g. Audio 2 (M. Oberle). Breeds in moist deciduous forests of the eastern USA, and winters from lowland Mexico south to northwestern Venezuela. Rare in winter in thick underbrush in coastal, dry and wet forests of Puerto Rico (e.g. 9 March 1992, Maricao State Forest; 30 October 1998, Barrio Dominguito, Arecibo; 21 October 2000, Ciales).
