Sensitive
issues
There are a number of popular misconceptions
about Aboriginal culture commonly held by non-Aboriginal people. Some
of these are matters that cause offense, often serious offense, to Aboriginal
people. Many of these regard particular words that are insulting or demeaning
of many people - some of them are in common use.

of Aboriginal people and cultures means that some things that are important

regarding Aboriginal people and their lives today. These include genocide,
racism, land rights, discrimination, education, self-esteem.

to learn about Aboriginal people today is to begin with major contemporary
issues. Dealing with such issues successfully often demands significant
skill and understanding. Click
