Chemicals are destroying me

Posted by: Richard Lawler ( McDonald's Australia, Australia ) on October 11, 1997 at 20:31:31:

I have now worked at MuckDonald's for almost 2 years, desperately trying to fund my fine art degree. As a result, I have developed: contact dermatitis, asthma, palpitations, mental anguish. The chemicals used to clean and maintain the store are extremely harmful, but are not printed on the labels as they are 'trade secrets'. Sanitiser - chlorine based, All purpose concentrate detergent - synthetic detergent, grill cleaner - who knows??? (can someone tell me?), floor cleaner - phosphoric acid. I am ruined. The skin on my hands cracks and bleeds because the APC has dissolved all the fat under my skin and has dried up my sweat glands on my hands. When cleaning the grills, and inhaling vaporised chemicals, I develop severe nausea and asthma attacks. Much is said about how McDonald's are cruel to employees, but more needs to be done about the chemicals in use.

Please, help me!!!!!!!!!!!!
