: No, they DON'T ever attribute anything to the McDonald brothers. The story is always told as Kroc starting McD's all by himself. And, there were already franchises up & running, when Kroc bought his. McD's already had shake machines when Kroc came into town hocking his wares. And, they NEVER would have sold him a franchise (or the rights) if they had known what kind of Crock he was was going to turn their hard work into.

: Don't ever believe the PR propaganda that you here from the McD's corp because it's a load of Kroc's crock. I KNOW the TRUTH.

Actually, Ray Kroc didn't go in there trying to buy out the McDonald brothers, he had an idea of THE BROTHERS opening chains of restuarants all over the nation. He was in the business of selling multimixers!!
He thought that if the brothers were to open more restuarants he could sell more mixers. The brothers did not want to expand on this level.
That is the reason that Ray Kroc decided to see if they were willing to
sell. Lastly, Mcdonald's does give a lot of credit to the brothers. Have you ever been to their small historical museum in Des Plaines, Ill.? It gives a lot of credit to the McDonald's brothers!!!
