: Leave the "socialism vs capitalism" out of this argument. Both have failed the ordinary man in the street. The only winners have been the greedy highflyers who are riding the "industrial wave" for all it's worth. Their greed knows no bounds and that includes borders.
Communism didn't work? Cuba and China? The problem with the media is that it thrives within a capitalist system, and therefore it is in the best interests of those that control the media to keep people in the dark about communism. Stalinism doesn't work, communism was never really given the chance. As far as keeping the "socialism vs capitalism" debate out of this arena goes: why? what should we talk about? Should we argue that we don't like the taste, therefore macca's is bad? Or should we say that we don't like the way mcdonald's operates ie exploitation of the many in order to make as much profit for the few as possible. That's what the argument is. That's what the argument should be.
