AMEN!

There are lots of alternatives. The world is currently digesting the remaining effects of the demise of the "communist" world with a slingshot reaction to "capitalism".

The large corporations are not capitalism, in its true sense, because there is not a level playing field. The courts say a company is a legal individual. The truth is, corporations are currently immortal, people die. To level the playing field, I believe we need to change the laws governing corporations that make them more like individuals.

I'm not sure how that would be implemented or what it would look like, but the people I know who work in corporations are not much more thrilled with the actions of the corporations than the people who post to these forums.

Corporations were orginally chartered for the benefit of the society that chartered them. Now they are turning around and devouring those same societies. People created them, people can disband them.

While it may make sense in the short run to fight a corporations as a super equal or superior, the truth is, they are not people, do not have the same interests, feeling or goals as people. As such it makes more sense in the long run to revise the rules by which they play.

It's a love-hate relationship. I like my car and the freedom it provides, but I don't like the smog, damage and isolation that come along with it. The car manufacturing corporation is only interested in selling wheels, unlike a real person who wants all sorts of things.
