Day 247 - 10 May 96 - Page 03

MR. JUSTICE BELL: Yes. Let us just see what that amounts to.
(Handed). Are they for all the meetings?

MR. RAMPTON: Yes, I have done it for all the meetings which are
in your Lordship's bundle that I know of. There are no
names that I know of that are now missing from any of them.

MR. JUSTICE BELL: It may not be, it may not matter, or I may
have understood it but, for instance, page 2 in the bundle
has "31/1/94". No, that is a message. That is irrelevant.

MS. STEEL: Well, it would be helpful to know who it was to and
       from. It would be relevant.

MR. RAMPTON: No, it would not be relevant. I am sorry,
I adhere to my original view that I have said that it is
not relevant. But I will have a look and see whether I
       have any problem with it.

MR. JUSTICE BELL: In the meantime, what I am going to do is put
in my bundle behind each of the relevant pages what I have
       been handed up.

MR. RAMPTON: I am sorry, my Lord. If your Lordship would like
us to, we will have it done properly in due course.

MR. JUSTICE BELL: There is no need for that. For instance, the
one which has "28th February 1994", I am going to put in
       between pages 12 and 13. The one dated 21st March, 1994, I
am going to put in between pages 16 and 17.

  MR. RAMPTON: Yes.

MR. JUSTICE BELL: The 11th April one I will put in behind 18
       for the moment.

MR. RAMPTON: Can I go back to page 2, my Lord? I agree with
       your Lordship that it ----

  MR. JUSTICE BELL: 16?

  MR. RAMPTON: 16?

MR. JUSTICE BELL: No, 14, I think you said it was.

  MR. RAMPTON: 14, yes.

MR. JUSTICE BELL: I will put the other sheet in behind 14.

  MR. RAMPTON: Yes.

MR. JUSTICE BELL: What about the memo? I have to say, I have a
great deal of -- maybe it is not very legal -- of
difficulty with memos of meetings when I do not know who
was there and memoranda when I do not know who sent them
       and who to.

MR. RAMPTON: I understand that. It is simply that I have, for
reasons which your Lordship is aware of, flown by the book
in relation to discovery, and I did it on this occasion
