MR. RAMPTON: My Lord, Miss Anteneh is here. Would you go into
       the witness box, please?

                        ALMAZ ANTENEH, sworn
                      Examined by MR. RAMPTON Q.C.

MR. RAMPTON: Are your full names Almaz Anteneh?
       A. Yes.

  Q. And you give your address as McDonald's Head Office,
       East Finchley, North London?
       A. 11569 High Road, East Finchley.

  Q. That is all right. We have had that many times. Thank
you. Are you now a McDonald's franchisee?
       A. That is correct.

  Q. I will not ask you the address of your restaurant, for the
reasons that you have put in your statement. Were you, in
1987, the Manager of the Strand restaurant?
       A. That is correct.

MISS STEEL: Can I just say, I object to the reasons that are
given in the statement. It is, quite plainly, absolutely
nothing to do about this case; and it is not like it is
someone's personal address. She may be a Manager of a
store which has other relevance in this -- sorry, a
franchisee of a store which is -----

MR. JUSTICE BELL: What I suggest you do, when we come to
cross-examination, we will deal with it then. When you
come to a point you want to ask her about where the
whereabouts of her store is relevant, raise it, and I will
       rule on it.

MS. STEEL: The point I am making is that the reason given in
the statement is quite clear -- it is quite clear that it
is absolutely nothing to do with this case and, therefore,
it should not be used as an excuse for not giving the
       store's address.

MR. JUSTICE BELL: I do not know yet. I will rule on it when we
come to any part in the evidence which is relevant to it.
I assume that will be when you raise something in
cross-examination. Then when I see what it is you want to
put, I will rule whether it is necessary to disclose where
       Miss Anteneh's store is.

MR. RAMPTON: I do not, myself, believe that the location of the
address of Miss Anteneh's store has any relevance to the
       issues in this case.

MR. JUSTICE BELL: I will wait and see, Mr. Rampton. I just
       cannot tell at the moment.

  MR. RAMPTON:  I am not going to deal with it, what I am saying;
nor am I going to go into the detail of paragraph 2 of her
