Since April of 1994, over 1700 people have joined the Carpatho-Rusyn Society (C-RS) to share the growing interest among Carpatho-Rusyn Americans to know more about their heritage and assure its perpetuation.

The goal of the Carpatho-Rusyn Society is to unite Carpatho-Rusyns culturally, and celebrate, manifest, and develop the continuity and integrity of this beautiful culture.

Membership is open to people of any cultural or religious background who recognize the Carpatho-Rusyns as a distinct people with a distinct culture. Members receive a newsletter (6 issues per year) packed with information on Rusyn culture, European news, travel experiences, genealogical research, recipes, reviews of folk arts and festival performances, a calendar of Carpatho-Rusyn Society and Rusyn community events, and a Rusyn language home study course.

In addition, the society meets several times a year at various locations in Eastern and Midwestern USA. C-RS sponsors an annual picnic, a Rusyn Christmas celebration, and a heritage tour of the Rusyn European homeland.
