    The Pittsburgh Chapter Vatra
    & Annual National Meeting

Saturday, September 24th and Sunday, September 25th

Join the C-RS for a weekend extravaganza! Mark your calendars for Saturday September 24th and Sunday September 25, and plan to spend a Rusyn weekend with us!

The Pittsburgh Chapter of the C-RS will be sponsoring a Vatra (bonfire party) on Saturday evening September 24th 6 PM at the Holy Resurrection Byzantine Catholic Church, 455 Center Road, Monroeville, PA 15146.

There will be traditional foods that you would find at an original Vatra to include Kolbassy, as well as other traditional foods and baked goods. Beer, pop, and other drinks will also be available for purchase as well as the C-RS sales table, a chinese auction, and a 50/50.

Orchestra Zlata Baňa will start the evening off right with music for your listening pleasure and Rusyn folklore expert Jerry Jumba will lead everyone in a sing-a-long of Rusyn and other popular folk songs as soon as nightfall arrives.

On Sunday September 25 at Holy Resurrection Byzantine Church hall, the National Branch of the C-RS will hold its Annual National Meeting to begin at 2:00 p.m.

After the meeting, John Righetti, President and Dean Poloka, Vice-President will give a short presentation on Rusyn song, music and dance. This will be followed by an encore performance of the Slavjane Folk Ensemble of McKees Rocks, who recently returned from their two-week tour of the Rusyn Homeland. Food, beverages, and baked goods will again be available for purchase as well as items from the C-RS sales table.

Admission for both events is free! Food and drink will be available a-la-carts both days!

For further information, please contact John Righetti 412-749-0675, Jack Poloka 412-331-3124, or Dean Poloka 412-262-9425, for more information.
