C-RS NATIONAL CAPITAL CHAPTER

National Capital Chapter President Speaks at Patronage Byzantine Catholic Church

On 9 January 2005 Tom Brenzovich, President C-RS National Capital Chapter was the guest speaker at the Patronage of the Mother of God Byzantine Catholic Church in Arbutus Maryland.   The event was sponsored by the Patronage Men’s Club who host a Sunday morning breakfast every two months for the parish.  The breakfast is very popular among the parishioners and helps build a wonderful sense of community at Patronage.  After breakfast, Tom presented a power point presentation that provided an overview of “Who are the Rusyn”, the Carpatho-Rusyn Society, and an explanation of the Rusyn National Emblem.  During breakfast, Tom presented a slide show and a brief commentary of his recent trips to Subcarpathia Rus’.

It certainly was an honor and privilege for Tom to participate in this event and he thoroughly enjoyed the hospitality and the warm reception offered by the Patronage parishioners.  As a token of their appreciation the Patronage Men’s Club Vice President, Wayne Roach, presented Tom with an Icon depicting St. Cyril and St. Methodius, the Apostles of the Slavs.

Sincerely with pride in our Rusyn heritage,
Carpatho-Rusyn Society, National Capital Chapter, Board of Directors
