You are cordially invited to attend a show of the film Ine Svety on Saturday, February 14, 2009 at 2PM at the NY Public Library (Mulberry Street Branch).  The focus of this contemporary documentary film is on six individuals who live in Saris County, Northeast Slovakia. This area of the Carpathian Mountains contains a tapestry of various ethnic and religious blend of people.  This film focuses on six individuals: 2 Slovaks, 2 Rusyns, 1 Roma (gypsy) and one Jewish person.

Within several humorous scenes the viewer examines the various ways in which their uniqueness, traditional customs and local knowledge are rapidly disappearing with the influence of globalization.

Ine Svety won Special Mention and the Audience Awards at the 2006

Karlovy Vary International Film Festival.
