Saturday, March 15, 2008
1:30-3:00pm
at
The New York Public Library
Mulberry Street Branch
Warm your hearts and excite your minds by meeting the Rusyn author
Luba Czerhoniak Fedash as she discusses her book, Blossoms on a
Rooftop. The publisher writes, " Luba was born shortly before the
beginning of World War II in the region of the Carpathian Mountains
known as Lemkovyna, now part of Poland. Blossoms on a Rooftop is
the exciting story of her early life, first as a child forced to
grow up
much too fast by the horrors of Nazi occupation, then as a young
girl
caught up in the forced resettlement of thousands during Poland's
1947 Operation Vistula (Akcja Wisla), and finally as an immigrant
teen
trying to make a new life for herself in the U.S. Luba's
determination
and her love of God and Nature saw her through to ultimate triumph
over adversary and a happy life in her adopted country."
Free Admission Open to the Public Refreshments will be served
