    "An Old Fashion Vatra"

    Saturday, October 1 , 2005 ~ 4 pm

    Shrine of Mariapoch
    17486 Mumford Road, Burton, OH

The Cleveland Chapter is sponsoring an old fashion Vatra. Come join the Cleveland, Erie and Youngstown/Warren chapters for fellowship around a fire with stories and songs that were dear to our Rusyn ancestors. There will be a bacon fry, kolbasi and sauerkraut at old-fashioned prices. Hotdogs will be available for the children along with a hay ride. Please bring a dessert to share (a recipe that was handed down from your ancestors). Dress for the evening weather and bring a chair.

Prior to the Vatra there will be a Slavonic Liturgy at the outdoor shrine in memory of our ancestors at 4:00 pm. Come learn about the miraculous icon of Mary that wept in a Rusyn church in the village of Povch in Hungary. You do not need to belong to the organization to attend. Anyone interested in Rusyn culture is welcome. Car pools are being set up in Akron, Lorain, Brecksville, Euclid, Maple Heights, Parma, Fairview Park, Youngstown, Warren and Erie (PA). Reservations are necessary. For car pooling to ride or drive, call Marcia at 440 331-3856. For reservations call Bonnie at 440 729-2045 before September 27th.
