On October 16th, the Cleveland Chapter held its first genealogy workshop.
It was a small gathering which worked well for encouraging interaction. We had about 18 individuals with a variety of research experiences. Marcia Benko began by covering some of the basics of genealogy research which focused on some of the local resources.
Afterwards, William Lucak spoke on working with Greek Catholic church records and the 1869 Hungarian Census. Looking at interpreting handwriting quirks and the various clues for verifying info... (i.e. Alias names, house numbers, ages/death dates, etc).
