Getting started with teTEX

Here is what you need to do to use a minimal teTEX:

1. Download the following from sunsite.informatik.rwth-aachen.de:
   1. the binaries i486-linux.tar.gz, or i486-linuxaout.tar.gz,
   2. the base files tetex-base.tar.gz and latex-base.tar.gz.

2. Next unzip and extract all the files using tar.

3. Then add the directory with the binaries to your PATH environmental variable.

4. Finally, run texhash and texconfig.
