FAQs

What is the license for this software?

Neither the FutureBASIC nor the PG applications are copy protected. We understand that a programmer wishes to use these as tools and that copy protection can only hinder that ease of access and use. As the software is licensed to you, the programmer, you may install our software on whatever machines that you need to use it. Please note that this is only for your individual use and not for any other person who is using your machine[s].

In a professional or school situation, the programmer who is licensed cannot be the lab, school, business or institution who buys the software -- only an individual.

If you want to use FutureBASIC in a lab or in a class, you need to acquire a lab license. This will cover all the machines in one specific place, regardless of the users. In this case, please note that the license covers the machines, not the programmers. If a programmer wants to use our software at home then she must acquire an individual license for that use.

If you want to use FutureBASIC anywhere in a school, business or other institution you will need to acquire a site license. This covers all machines on one site, regardless of the users. As for the lab licence, if a programmer wants to use our software off the site -- at home, or on a portable, for example -- then she must acquire an individual license for that use.

In the case of lab packs and site licenses, STAZ Software extends the license to include a single instructor's use at home for the preparation of classroom lessons.

We count that you will find this clear and -- above all - fair. By respecting these simple agreements, you send us a clear message that we did right to to avoid rigid rules, conditions and license terms.

And more than that, that trust is the best copy protection.
