This kit contains a zip of one of three (3) OpenVMS Freeware
Version 7.0 CD-ROMs. The three Freeware Version 7.0 CD-ROMs
contain a variety of unsupported software tools and utilities, and
OpenVMS ports of common open-source packages. These packages can
be useful for a variety of technical, engineering, or educational
purposes.
For information on each specific freeware package, refer to the
appropriate FREEWARE_README.TXT file found on each CD-ROM. For
additional information on OpenVMS Freeware, refer to the Freeware
web site named below.
To (correctly) decompress this kit, use a version of unzip that
preserves the OpenVMS file attributes (and use the unzip "-V"
option), or use a tool that will restore the BACKUP saveset
attributes. For the RESET_BACKUP_SAVESET_FILE_ATTRIBUTES.COM tool
and for a recent version of the unzip tool, see the [000TOOLS]
directory underneath the most recent Freeware disks located here:

To install this kit, unzip it, perform a BACKUP/IMAGE to restore it
to a scratch disk, and then install the products using the standard
procedures for CD-ROM distribution kits.
