Installing SYSTEM MASTER
------------------------
To install SYSTEM MASTER, execute the following steps as presented.
1) Make a Sub-Directory on your hard disk. Call it SM.
C:\> md c:\sm <ENTER>
2) Log the SM directory.
C:\> cd\sm <ENTER>
3) Place the SYSTEM/DOCUMENTATION diskette in the appropriate
diskette drive, and unpack the SM_PROG.ZIP, SM_MENU.ZIP and
the SM_DOCS.ZIP files.
C:\SM\> A:\PKUNZIP A:\SM_PROG <ENTER>
-and-
C:\SM\> A:\PKUNZIP A:\SM_MENU <ENTER>
-and-
C:\SM\> A:\PKUNZIP A:\SM_DOCS <ENTER>
All of the necessary system and configuration files should now be
operational. Proceed to section 1.5 to start SYSTEM MASTER.
Starting SYSTEM MASTER
----------------------
SYSTEM MASTER may only be run from within the directory in which
it resides. If you attempt to run the shell from outside the
SYSTEM MASTER directory, necessary setup files will not be located
and error messages will be displayed.
C:\SM\>
You MUST use the following command to start SYSTEM MASTER:
C:\SM\> sm <ENTER>
The system will either work incorrectly or not at all if any of
the other batch or exec files are run.

The SYSTEM MASTER Documentation takes advantage of the IBM
graphics character set. If your printer is capable of

printing these characters, set it to do so before printing
the Documentation.
The SYSTEM MASTER documentation is Approxamately 116 pages
long. Be sure to have an adequate supply of printer paper
handy.
To print the documentation (after the SM_DOCS.ZIP file has
been 'PKUNZIP'ed), enter the following:
COPY *.DOC LPT1
SYSTEM MASTER Initial Security Settings
---------------------------------------
When Shipped, the SYSTEM MASTER Security System is disabled.
To Enable the Security System Perform the following steps to
the Letter:
1) Load SM.
2) Press the 'F3' key to enter the User Profile Editor.
3) Select the BROWSE Option.
4) Select the EDIT Option.
5) Enter the Appropriate Data as Prompted.
A) Your AccessLevel MUST be 99.
B) !!! Don't Forget Your Password !!!
6) Select RETURN to Exit the BROWSE Mode.
7) Select EXIT to Return to the MENU Mode.
8) Select the Configuration Menu Option.
9) Select the System Security Toggle Menu Option under
the SWITCHES Menu Pad.
10) Press the 'F4' key.
11) Enter Your Password as Prompted.
12) The Security System is Now ACTIVE!!!
It you have already set the Security System Active and can't
gain Access to SYSTEM MASTER, the Security System has been
initialized with the PassWord 'SM31'. Use this password to
gain access to SYSTEM MASTER then Press F3 to Establish User
Profiles for SYSTEM MASTER.
!!!!! IMPORTANT !!!!!
SYSTEM MASTER is shipped with it's internal COMSPEC variable set
as follows: C:\COMMAND.COM.
If your COMSPEC varies from this, you MUST enter the configuration
menu and set the COMSPEC variable to it's proper value! (See
Section 10 for detailled info on the configuration menu).
